10-Year-Old Boy Survives Shark Attack By Fighting It Back

A 10-year-old boy survived a nightmarish shark attack by kicking the deadly animal on the nose on Makaha Beach Park in Hawaii.

Raymond Senensi was bodyboarding after school when a shark suddenly "popped out of nowhere", sank its teeth into his leg and pulled the boy into the ocean. However, the schoolboy didn’t panic and fought back by kicking the predator on its snout.

Recalling the incident Raymond said: "I kicked it with this leg, and then I kicked him in the nose." Fortunately, with the help of another bodyboarder and off-duty lifeguard the boy was taken to the beach, where he was rushed to hospital.

Raymond had three deep gashes on his leg, one of which was a large opening on his thigh. But doctors say that the little hero is recovering quickly and would be discharged from hospital soon.

According to state statisticcs, this is Hawaii's seventh confirmed shark attack this year. Authorities explain a rise in the attacks by more people choosing the ocean for their aquatic recreation, rather than sharks population growth in the area.
