Plateau Guber: Tribunal Upholds Election Of Gov Lalong
The governorship election petitions tribunal in Plateau state has upheld the election of Governor Simon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, GNS Pwajok, on the ground that it was lacking in merit.
The APC candidate won the 2015 gubernatorial election in Plateau state with 564, 913 votes as against the PDP’s candidate who scored 520, 627 votes.

Senator Pwajok, the PDP governorship candidate challenged the victory of Lalong at the polls, alleging foul plays.
It's a season of petitions and election tribunal giving their verdicts. In the past one week, no fewer than three cases have been decided.
On October 20, Vincent Bulus, a lawmaker belonging to the had been sacked and barred for life from contesting elections by the National Assembly and State House of Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
On October 21, an election tribunal in Akwa Ibom also ordered a rerun of the governorship election in the state.
At the weekend, Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal dismissed Nyesom Wike as the governor of the state and ordered that a rerun be conducted.
