Three Men In Lagos Accused Of Unlawful Possession Of Child's Corpse

Three people aged below 30 face a two-count charge of conspiracy and illegal possession of a decomposing corpse.

The suspects: Idris Nureni, Nathaniel Omale and Friday Anifofun - appeared before Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on June 11 and pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

Meanwhile the prosecution maintained that the accused were detained on April 7 while they were carrying the dead body of an unidentified child, NAN reports. 

Explaining the situation the men said they had found the corpse in a bush and were conveying it to the palace of the Baale for investigation.

Some locals who witnessed the action immediately alerted the police.

All the suspects were granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The justice adjourned the case to next Monday.
