Ritualists Attack Woman, Remove Her Eyes
A woman identified as Zainab Mohammed, has lost her eyes after Ritualists attacked her and removed them in Bauch state.
She was on her way home from a coronation ceremony she attended in Lukshi village of Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State where three men jumped out of the bush and attacked her.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed the woman was immediately rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital for treatment after the police visited the scene of the incident.
DSP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident said that “We received a report at Dass Division that one Zainab Mohammed of Yelwan Dawani village was attacked by three people and two of her eyes were removed in the bush at Lukshi village. The woman was on her way home after attending a coronation ceremony when the incident occurred,” he said.
He also added: “Police detectives attached to Dass division visited the scene and took the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for treatment”.
According to DSP Haruna Mohammed investigations have begun into the incident and efforts are being made to arrest the attackers.
