Reno Omokri, a pastor and Special Assistant to the President on New Media, has been exposed as the mastermind behind the article that labels the suspended CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi as potential sponsor of the Boko Haram sect.

Mr. Omokri, exposed under alias Wendell Simlin, made the accusation in a press release titled 'Increased Tempo of Boko Haram/Terrorist Activity in the Wake of the Sanusi Saga,' which he sent to various media houses. An analysis of the document's metadata revealed that Reno Omokri authored it.

Among other allegations, Mr. Omokri stated that Mr. Sanusi's suspension as CBN Governor has a role in the most recent Boko Haram activities. The author also suggested that Mr. Sanusi may have had contacts with Osama bin Laden.

The potential scandal angered Nigerians on social media, with many calling for Mr. Omokri’s immediate sack.
