Sheriff Alex Hodge in Mississippi's Jonees County told local media outlets that young people were attending a service Wednesday night at Freedom Baptist Church in Myrick when the second floor gave way — a drop of about 12 feet.

Spokeswoman Linda Gavin at the South Central Regional Medical Center, told newsmen in Laurel  that at least 15 young people were treated there and released.

She added that a 16-year-old girl was taken to a Hattiesburg hospital with a possible head injury.

Details on the girl's condition were not immediately available, but authorities say none of the injures was life-threatening.
