Eight People Shot As Ogun APC Crisis Turns Violent

The crisis in the Ogun State All Progressives Congress, APC, turned violent on Thursday with some members sustaining gunshot injuries.

Eight people were reportedly shot during the clash at Wasimi Market Square, Ewekoro Local Government Area. They are said to be currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Some federal lawmakers also narrowly escaped the attack. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that a senator representing Ogun Central, Gbenga Obadara, was holding a meeting with party members at the market square when thugs alleged to be working for a factional leader of the party opened fire on them.

The Ogun APC has been in crisis with members split into two camps: those loyal to Governor Ibikunle Amosun and those loyal to ex-governor Olusegun Osoba. Details later…
