Kidnapped Bayelsa Commissioner’s Father Released

The kidnapped father of Bayelsa State Commissioner for Tourism Development, Pa Nelson Tempurah has been released after two weeks in captivity.

It will be recalled that the elderly man was kidnapped from his Minibeleu country home at Akassa on the Atlantic fringe on November 20 by unknown gunmen.

According to the information available, he was released on Thursday night along the Nembe creek in the Bayelsa East Senatorial district.

However, it couldn't been ascertained whether any ransom had been paid to the abductors before the man's release. Previously them demanded N98m ransom which was later reduced to N50m.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the fact of commissioner’s father release.
