Sokoto State Buys Two Power Plants At N163m

On Saturday, the Government of Sokoto state acquired two 2000 KVA power plants, valued at approximately N163 million.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Shehu Tangaza, said the plants would further boost the process of water supply to Sokoto metropolis and its surroundings.

He maintained that the purchase is part of the efforts by the present state administration to improve watter supply.

He added that the state government has awarded more contracts for a larger number of powerplants to make sure that all the dysfunctional ones are replaced.

The lawmaker urger Sokoto residents to use water "judiciously," warning them against illegal connection of water pipes.
