Muhammadu Buhari Arrives Germany Ahead Of G7 Summit
On Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria to attend the G7 Summit, which will hold in Bavaria, Germany.
According to a statement made public by Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman, Buhari was accompanied by Kashim Shettima, the governor of Borno state, Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos state, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, former chief of army staff, and other officials.
Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti state, led a small advance team to Germany to prepare for Buhari’s arrival, PM News reports.
Although Buhari is yet to appoint his cabinet, Fashola and Dambazau have been tipped to be nominated as ministers.

Shehu revealed that the president was invited to the G7 summit before he was sworn into office.
He added that Buhari would not be participating in the main meetings, since Nigeria is not a member of the G7 group.
“He is in a group of seven other Heads of State who were called in as guests. He will equally be holding key side meetings with some of the seven Heads of State who will be convened at the summit.
“The international community is obviously acknowledging Nigeria’s significant role in global affairs, especially with the recent change in government,” the spokesman concluded.
