PDP Governor-Elect Explains Why Buhari Shouldn't Snub Him
Following his victory in Saturday’s governorship elections, Cross River State governor-elect, Professor Ben Ayade, who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has appealed to president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to avoid marginalization.
Addressing newsmen, the governor-elect begged the president-elect not to see him as an outcast when his administration takeover power on democracy day, May 29.

According to Prof. Ayade, General Buhari shouldn’t deny him access or favours just because he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Professor Ayade also cautioned the press against placing too much emphasis on party supremacy, saying campaigns are over.
“I want to strongly appeal to the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, not to see himself as an APC president, who will only give ear to governors from his party, but to act as father of the nation. It is now time for governance.”

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Cross rivers, Senator Benedict Ayade, swept the polls in the April 11, Governorship Elections scoring a total of 342,016 votes to defeat his rival, Odey Ochicha of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 53,983.
Ayade, who defeated other four candidates in the elections was declared winner by the returning officer in the state, Prof Comfort Ekpo, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, after scoring above 25 percent in the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
