Lagos Igbo Leaders Endorse Agbaje
Igbo traditional rulers and leaders in Lagos State have announced that they have endorsed the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Jimi Agbaje.
This was announced on Monday by Heads of Ndigbo in Lagos State, led by Eze H.N Ohazulike. The announcement was made at the palace of Ohazulike Vanguard Newspaper reports.
Addressing newsmen on their deliberations, Ohazulike said the group took the decision after studying the manifestos of the political parties vying for the election in the state.
“After exhaustively studying the manifesto and matters concerning our interests, we resolved that the interests of Ndi Igbo in Lagos will be better protected under a future Agbaje-led administration.”

“Accordingly, we endorse him as the candidate of Ndi Igbo in the coming governorship elections on behalf of our subjects and Igbo people in the state.”
Uwazulike, who urged Igbos in Lagos to vote for Agbaje, described him as a man of character and integrity who he believed would deliver on his campaign promises.
According to him, change was needed in Lagos after the 16 year rule of the AD/APC in the state.
The monarch also urged Igbo people to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP.
The traditional leaders at the event included Eze John-Greg Ezebuadi, Eze Benjamin Eluii, Eze Ikem Agbasi, Eze Jonathan Ekwem and Eze Samuel Udo among others.
While the Igbo traditional rulers favor Agbaje over his main rival Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressive Party, the Ladipo market trader declared their support for the APC candidate.
