Olamide Campaigns For Buhari, Osinbanjo
One of Nigeria's most successful rappers, Olamide Adedeji a.k.a Badoo has endorsed the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo in the forthcoming February 2014 presidential election with a song.
Olamide, who owns the popular YBNL record label, seem to be Pro-APC as he recently appeared in a television commercial for the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
The rapper who debunked recent news that surfaced online that he was kidnapped, curiously, said in the past that he doesn't have any political leanings and even went as far as saying he do not intend to vote in the February elections.
Olamide in the song, implored Nigerians to vote for the Daura-born retired military general, with a significant line in the song saying "Buhari and Osinbanjo, na the change wey we dey want"
Whether the song will go a long way to sway would-be voters is a topic for another day, but one thing that cannot be taken away from the rapper is his satr power and influence that is capable of influencing young and un-decided voters.
Listen to the song below:
It will be recalled that pro Osinbanjo was spotted at the “Olamide in Concert” show (OLIC) which was held on December 28, at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
