Read What Redeemers University Did To 22 Students

Most church private universities in Nigeria are known for being strict when it comes to discipline.

However, one school, Redeemers University, which is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church Of God led by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, is in the news for a disciplinary measure which everyone thinks it has really gone to the extreme in the manner it allegedly punished 22 of the students.

According to an unconfirmed report, the 22 students were said to have not attended church services and were suspended. Blogger Laila Ijeoma made it known that the school did suspend 22 students for not attending church. From two mails gotten from the student, she narrated how even an asthma patient who is also amongst the 22 students who did not attend church were suspended. She talked about how administration in the school can be so alarming...Here are the two sad emails one of the students sent in yesterday to Laila.

As the title reads, Redeemers University suspended over 22 students because they didn't go to church, even a student that didn't go because she has asthma attack was suspended. They are to be suspended till next semester effective from tomorrow thereby causing them to miss their first semester exam.

I highly doubt that Pst Adeboye knows about this victimization. The rule book, pictured above, states that failure to go to church attracts points been deducted (if student doesn't give a valid reason) not students been suspended. How can a parent waste almost 400k because the child did not go to church for a day, even the girl with the asthma attack had an attack right there and they still suspended her.

This so called porters and administrators take laws into their hands and victimized students out of envy (sometimes) and just because they know they can. A few months ago I heard a student's phone was seized by a porter because she had long natural nails.. Imagine that.. In a University.

I know this because my husbands sister attends the school. We are here soo upset and will be heading to the school tomorrow.. Please look into this cos I know you can.

This is an addition to the story.

Amidst pleading and shedding of tears, the students had to pull out their handbook to see the penalty for their supposed "OFFENSE". They showed it to the porters and admin staff responsible for the suspension and their response was "YES we know the rules but we want to make you all scape goats".

Find attached a screenshot of the handbook with the highlighted area of concern as proof that these people just do what they like and think they can always get away with it, after parents have labored and paid so much just to have students suspended over stupid reasons.
