Director Docked For Alleged N64m Theft

A Director with the Kebbi State, Ministry of Finance, Yahyah Saidu Andarai, and one Farouk Abubarka Uduli, were yesterday, arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly stealing N64 million belonging to Coscharis Motors Ltd.

The suspects and others at large who were charged before Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo, are facing a 27-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing preferred against them by the EFCC.

The defendants were said to have converted the said sum to their personal use being the proceed of AX motorcycles, property of Coscharis Motors entrusted to them on behalf of Jega National Union of Local Government Employees of Kebbi State.

While the second defendant was only charged with a two-count charge, the first defendant was charged with a 27-count charge.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.

Onigbanjo, however granted the two defendants bail in the sum of N2million, with two sureties in like sum.
