Jonathan Has Helped 40 Million Nigerians Get Cars – Okonjo-iweala

 The federal government has revealed that in the last three years more than 40 million Nigerians are now comfortable enough to own cars.

This was made known by Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala  yesterday in Abuja.

She said: “the improvement in the economic situation of Nigerians based on concrete steps has led to a situation where about 40 million Nigerians are comfortable to have cars.”

She also went on to say that if the Country could maintain the tempo of growth, it would become part of the world's  twenty greatest economy in the nearest future.

Okonjo-Iweala also  revealed that the FG has so far organized N2.4 trillion from external sources in the last three years to execute key projects.

These funds where to gotten from multilateral agencies with long gestation repayment period and zero percent interest charges.

She also explained that the FG is determined to be very prudent in the area of expenditure finance and has chosen to keep borrowing to a tolerable limit while concerted effort will be made to broaden sources of revenue outside of oil.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a globally renowned Nigerian economist best known for her two terms as Finance Minister of Nigeria and for her work at the World Bank.
