Tambuwal Leads Over 50 Members To APC Mini Convention

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Wednesday led more than 50 members of the house to the APC mini convention in Abuja.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Tambuwal was given a standing ovation ‎before taking his seat at the VIP stand. Delegates, who sat according to their states at different stands, rose ‎to applaud his entry into the pavilion.

Reportedly, Aminu Tambuwal defected from PDP to the APC on Tuesday in Abuja.

However, two factions of the party clashed at the Abia stand.

During the confusion, chairs, bottles and charms were thrown and used as weapons, NAN reports. Two men, who were severely injured, were taken to the hospital.

Security agents were not left out as a policeman also had some bruises on his body.

Armed policemen, however, later restored order at the convention.
