DEFECTION: PDP Seeks Tambuwal's Resignation

Due to the recent defection to the APC, Mallam Aminu Tambuwal has been asked to resign by the national leadership of the  Peoples Democratic Party.

Earlier today, Tambuwal made the news when it became official that he has defected to PDP. National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, revealed in Abuja that they are pushing for the resignation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

It was also gathered that Tambuwal might also be impeached if he refuses the PDP's request to resign.

Metuh had this to say on the matter;

“After a thorough consideration of the matter, the NWC came to a conclusion that the Hon. Speaker, as a responsible elected officer, knows full well what is needful and honourable of him since his new party is in the minority.

“We are not unmindful of the fact that Hon. Tambuwal became Speaker on the platform of the PDP as the political party with the majority of seats in the House of Representatives and that this incontrovertible fact has not changed.

Meanwhile it would be recalled in August it was reported that Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal held a secret meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop home in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State in regards to his 2015 political ambition.

In September, it was also reported that Tambuwal had a secret meeting with top politicians from the North who are in support of his presidential ambition and are working tirelessly to ensure he runs for Presidency.
