Gov. Yero Indicates Interest In 2015 Election
The Governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has indicated interest to run for the state’s governorship election in 2015.
The governor, who is expected to run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, submitted his letter of interest to the State party executive members, Leadership reports.
It was gathered that following the presentation of letter of intent to the party’s leadership, Yero has revealed his resolution to present himself as flag bearer of the PDP in the next governorship election.

Yero while speaking at the brief ceremony held at the party secretariat explained that his resolution was propelled by several calls coming from political and other interest groups in the state telling him to contest again.
“Governor Yero is set to battle Malam Nasir El-Rufai,” said an unnamed source of SaharaReporters from Abuja. A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, El-Rufai, is considered as a top contender for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the state’s PDP stakeholders from the entire 23 local government areas had earlier endorsed Yero-Bajoga ticket for 2015, a move which shows that the governor has huge support within the PDP hierarchy.
Responding to the governor’s letter of interest, the state’s party chairman, Abubakar Haruna, hinted that following the presentation of letter of intent by Yero, the process of transition had already started.
Haruna, who called on other aspirants eyeing one position or the other to follow suit said, Kaduna state chapter of the PDP would ensure a level playing ground for all aspirants.
He announced that the party would commence sales of nomination forms on Friday, October 10, 2014, due to the October 1, release of amended party guidelines.

Governor Yero’s entourage to the PDP secretariat comprised massive crowd of supporters, stakeholders of the party from the 23 local government areas of the state.
Meanwhile, Governor Mukhtar Yero was given a shocking reception by the women of Sanga Local Government Area of the state while reacting to the series of killings recorded in the area.
It would be recalled that on September 3, 2014, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero while reacting to the incessant attacks by the dreaded Boko Haram sect in the Northern part of the country said life has become so cheap in the North.
