Middle Aged Man Electrocuted Trying To Steal Diesel
A middle-aged man was on Friday electrocuted in Jos North local government area of Plateau State while trying to steal diesel from an MTN Telecommunications mast located at St Paul Church in the LGA.
Neighbours who seen gathered at the scene of the incident told Leadership that the deceased is notorious for vandalising electricity installations and other petty-robbery.
It was gathered that the deceased sneaked into the generator house of the mast and succeeded in filling a gallon with the stolen diesel, but unfortunately for him, after almost eluding the vicinity, he was electrocuted by the live electric fence.

Some of the neighbours who stood and watch said the victim burnt beyond recognition, adding that he was barely recognized with the clothes he put on earlier in the day. They expressed shock that the area which had no power (light) for the past two weeks suddenly got power when the deceased was about getting out uncaught.
It was alleged that the deceased has been known for vandalising PHCN electrical equipment and that of other companies for years now.
An eyewitness confirmed seen the deceased at about 5.20a.m in the morning with a gallon, but did not know that was his mission.
When contacted, the state’s Police Command spokesperson, Emmanuel Abu, confirmed the incident. He urged people to look for more productive businesses to do, and hinted that the deceased was not the only culprit in such acts.
