Jonathan Reveals When Boko Haram Will End

President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that the menace of the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram will end by next month as he guaranteed that things will change.

The President made the revelation on Thursday in Abuja, while speaking at the 66th National Executive Committee, NEC of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Vanguard reports.

He said the security challenge posed by the sect who have been killing innocent Nigerians as well as the destruction of properties estimated at billions of naira would drastically change.

President Jonathan, who acknowledged that the current problem bedeviling the country was insecurity, reiterated that the happenings in the country were beyond terrorism, saying it was a plot to separate where the militants desire to install their own leadership.

The Nigeria’s first citizen hinted that he will be attending the United Nations General Assembly summit on Global Terrorism where all the super powers are expected to deliberate on terrorism. He commiserated with the families of those that lost relatives in the Kaduna and Kano states attacks.

“Nigeria is having an unfair share. Terror is a global problem, and Nigeria situation is going beyond terror. When terrorists think about holding ground, attempting to install leadership, it is no longer terrorism; it is almost like going into the line of succession. Between now and October, things will change” he said.

The President thanked the Senate and the entire National Assembly for their statement and support towards government’s decision to bring an end to insurgency.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army said another 60 insurgents were killed in the battle that ensued on Wednesday night, after the terrorists reportedly went to regroup to cause more mayhem in Konduga town.

The confrontation which reportedly lasted for about four hours, led to the killing of some of the sect members and the recovery of several military hardware including 13 AK-47 rifles, five RPGs, two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs) and one anti-aircraft gun. Two Ford Ranger pick-up vehicles used for mounting anti-aircraft attack was also recovered.

It would be recalled that the President Jonathan on September 18, 2014, reacted to his endorsement by the National Executive Committee, NEC of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP as the party’s sole Presidential candidate for 2015 Presidential election. The PDP had fixed its presidential primaries for December 6, 2014.
