APC Will End Corruption In Nigeria – Buhari
Former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, has said his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) will put an end to corruption if elected into power.
PremiumTimes reports that Buhari made this statement while inaugurating a 250-bed Orthopaedic Hospital worth N1.12 billion constructed by the Sokoto State Government in Wamakko, Wamakko Local Government Area.
He said: “We will stop corruption and make the ordinary people, the weak and the vulnerable our top priority.”
The former head of state also said the APC has a clear objective of securing and efficiently managing Nigeria.
Buhari who was on a two-day official visit to Sokoto state to inaugurate and inspect several development projects executed by the state government, said he was impressed with Governor Wamakko initiation and completion of the project while speaking during the commissioning.
He said: “It will further help in saving the lives of accident and emergency victims in the state and save them the trouble of travelling outside the state to seek medical services.
“I am so impressed with the systematic methods Wamakko had employed to execute all his people-oriented projects.“You should consider yourself lucky and I am very pleased with the even spread of your projects across the 23 local governments of the state," Buhari said.
Meanwhile, Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State said his administration had made the health sector in the state its top priority from 2007 to date while stating that the state government had provided a general hospital for each of the 23 local governments saying:
“There are 240 primary health centres in the state, each provided with an ambulance, adequate medical personnel and equipment, among others.“All these were in addition to several interventionist projects successfully implemented by the state government in the health sector,” he said.
Meanwhile Buhari who is yet to declare his intention to run for presidency in the 2015 Elections, was in the centre of attention, as posters of the former head of state flooded the streets of Lagos over the weekend.
Buhari’s posters had the inscription “Nigeria-Wise Up 2015”, “General Buhari For President” which is reportedly sponsored by the Ogun State Coordinator of the Buhari Youth Organisation, BYO, according to PM News.
Although the opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC) is yet to announce its candidates for the 2015 presidential polls.
There are reports that aside Buhari, other notable aspirants already rumoured to be jostling for the APC Presidential ticket include Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Senator Bukola Saraki, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar among others.
