"Jonathan Fit To Win 2015 Nigerian Presidential Election"
Legit.ng guest contributing writer Bright Ihedinobi Dike, a resident of Lagos, penned an article entitled President Goodluck Jonathan: Our Man 2015. In it, he focuses on the upcoming Nigerian presidential election and President Goodluck Jonathan's chances to win. He enumerates the achievements of the present administration and argues that Jonathan is fit to win the race.
President Goodluck Jonathan's administration will go down the history as the most criticised administration in the history of this country. The government is not criticised because it’s not working, but because there are individuals who have sworn to rubbish his administration by propagating falsehood about his person and government. Sadly enough, they are not getting their desired result. Nigerians have known the truth, and the truth shall return him back to the office after the 2015 Nigerian presidential election.
The opponents criticise him as if there is a reward for that at the end of every month. It was Mahatma Gandhi who said "An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it."
From every available statistics and evidence, President Jonathanyou has shown and proved himself fit to be returned to the office after the 2015 Nigerian presidential election. However, his political distractors have refused to give him the credit, either because they hold grudges against him or are myopic in their reasoning. The President has demonstrated in an enviable manner how a country should be governed. He is a leader, not a ruler. This he has demonstrated by carrying his followers along.
The opposition has shown President Jonathan insincerity worse than a traitor's hand. With their quasi-patriotism which is characterised and focused on only filling their bellies, they think they will deceive Nigerians into believing the reasons for ganging-up against the President is borne out of their genuine intention to prosper Nigeria. No. They are just political buccaneers with no clear vision or mission for the country. Only interested in what they will garner from the public treasury while using coated vendetta and fake honesty as tools of playing to the gallery. It was Malcolm X who said "You're not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it."
President Jonathan represents a new generation of Nigerian politicians poised to bring a positive change in the body of Nigeria polity. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past ways of governing Nigeria, or to those who look to the present of looting Nigeria are certain and bound to miss the future. President Jonathan has shown that all labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.
Today, electricity has improved like never before in this country. We are not there yet, but it's getting a lot better. Our roads are becoming better. Elections are becoming more free and fair. Nigeria is taking her place in the comity of nations. But for the sabotage by sworn enemies of Nigeria, the fight against insurgence would have been a thing of the past. President Jonathan has admirably shown he is equal to the task of securing the lives and property of Nigerians. With the efficacy of his strides and flair in fighting against insecurity, President Jonathan is marching towards glory like no other Nigerian president ever had. The President also has shown he is a peace loving leader. He hates enmity in its entirety. An amiable President with lots of love in his bone marrow.
To his haters and antagonists, he has demonstrated by words and attitude that we are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection as compatriots.
President Jonathan has brought a wind of change to the political atmosphere of our nation. I would like to tell his distractors that the only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it and join the dance of voting him in again come 2015 Nigerian presidential election, since his works speaks volume and value.
