Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi who recently turned 76 on Sunday, August 31 celebrated his birthday in grand style.

The Monarch celebrated with his four wives, children, close friends and other family members at a grand event in London.

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Dr. Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, is one of the most popular monarchs in Nigeria.

The Oyo monarch was an Insurance clerk and boxer before he came Alaafin of Oyo.

Lamidi Adeyemi succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II in 1970, during the governorship of Colonel Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, after the end of the Nigerian Civil War.
