2015: President Jonathan’s Support Groups Hit 300
President Goodluck Jonathan’s supporters in the South-South have drastically increased as about 300 groups reportedly showed up for screen on Tuesday, in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
The Nation reports that the ongoing screening, which started yesterday, was to evaluate the organisations that are mobilising supporters for President Jonathan’s re-election bid.

This was made known by Ambassador Sebibo Horsfall, the leader of the screening team in the South South geopolitical zone.
“The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Prof. Ahmed Alkali, inherited about 3,000 to 4,000 support groups from his predecessor, Hon. Gulak. The purpose of this exercise is to harmonise these groups. We want to know them and want them to know us. They are our friends and we are like one family. We want us to work together towards Jonathan’s re-election in 2015,” Horsfall said.
He stated that the exercise was currently happening simultaneously across the six geo-political zones of the country.
