Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to avoid confrontations with military personnel while carrying out his duties.
His reaction followed a viral video showing the minister in a heated argument with a uniformed officer over a disputed piece of land in the Gaduwa District of Abuja.

The footage, which surfaced online today, November 11, captured Wike engaging an unidentified military officer at the Gaduwa District of the FCT.
The minister accused the officer of providing security cover for a parcel of land allegedly linked to a former Chief of Naval Staff.
Wike involved in argument over land dispute
In the video, Wike challenged the military’s claim to the property and questioned why public land should be occupied under personal or official cover.

The confrontation intensified when the officer, dressed in camouflage, interrupted the minister, insisting that the land was lawfully acquired and that his actions were legitimate.
The exchange grew tense as Wike ordered the officer to remain silent, drawing the attention of onlookers and triggering a wave of public discussion.
Vanguard also noted the development, with the FCT minister remarking:
“Because you are an officer? Nobody does that. The man took land because he was the Chief of Naval Staff?”
The officer defended himself, maintaining that he had acted on his orders and that the land was legitimately acquired.
“I am an officer with integrity. Everything was acquired legally."
As the drama unfolded, Wike responded:
“You send soldiers to intimidate who? We are all from this country. If not for the CDS who spoke to me now, you would have to kill everybody here. I’m not one of those that you can intimidate."
Sani warns Wike against tension with military
Reacting to the incident on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Shehu Sani praised Wike’s urban renewal drive but advised him to act with caution when dealing with military officers.

Wike opens up after clash with soldiers
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nyesom Wike condemned the alleged illegal takeover of a disputed land in Abuja by military personnel allegedly acting on the orders of a former Chief of Naval Staff.
According to a statement on Tuesday, November 11, by Lere Olayinka, the FCT Minister's spokesperson, obtained by Legit.ng, he described the actions of the soldiers as unacceptable and lawless.
Wike, who visited the site after reportedly receiving reports that soldiers drove away Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) officials enforcing development control directives, stated that no individual, regardless of their former position, would be allowed to intimidate government authorities or obstruct the enforcement of the law.
Tinubu urged to sack Wike
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Atiku Movement (TAM) vehemently condemned what it called the outrageous and delusional statements of Wike.
TAM blasted the FCT Minister, stating that he had claimed credit for roads and water projects as if they were 'funded by his personal piggy bank'.
