Chelsea won the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup during the Italian’s first season and are gearing up for the second year.
The players resumed training ahead of the new season after having an extended break because of their participation at the Club World Cup, which served as their pre-season.
Maresca has only 13 days to prepare for the opening match, a London derby against FA Cup holders Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on August 17.
Chelsea delete nine players from their website
Maresca, since his first day at Chelsea, has clearly communicated his intention to work with a small group of players despite having over 40 at his disposal when he arrived.
The manager continues to keep true to his words and has informed players who are not in his plans for next season, none of whom travelled to the US, to find new clubs.
Chelsea transfer-listed 15 players for potential loan and permanent exits this summer, even after six departures, including loan moves for Mike Penders and Kendry Paez.
As confirmed by Legit.ng, Chelsea have removed the profiles of nine first team players from their official website, which indicates that they will leave permanently this summer.
Raheem Sterling, who spent last season on loan at Arsenal, is top of the list, with Ben Chilwell, who was on loan at Crystal Palace, the other high-profile omission.
Lesley Ugochukwu, Armando Broja, both of whom are close to completing permanent moves to newly-promoted side Burnley, have also been deleted.

Axel Disasi, Carney Chuwuemeka, Renato Veiga, David Datro Fofana and Alfie Gilchrist have also been excluded ahead of permanent departures.
Renato Veiga fell out of favour with Maresca and the fans after pushing to play as a centre-back, even though the club wanted him as a backup to Marc Cucurella at left-back.
Interestingly, Mykhailo Mudryk still has a profile on the website, though the Ukrainian winger is suspended for doping. He does not have a squad number after Cole Palmer took his number 10.
Tyrique George, Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Trevoh Chalobah, who are listed on the website, could still leave the club if the right offer arrives.
According to The Athletic, the Blues have spent £240.2 million on signings this summer and more arrivals are still expected, as such, the departures are necessary to make room for the new signings.
Nigeria-eligible stars set to leave Chelsea
Legit.ng reported that three Nigeria-eligible players will leave Chelsea this summer, with the club undergoing a mass clear-out of unwanted players.
Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu and Tyrique George will all leave Chelsea this summer, with a permanent move other than a loan expected.
