The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have been actively pursuing him to switch his international allegiance, but he remained hopeful for an England call-up.

Adarabioyo decides his international future

According to Sports Boom, Adarabioyo has decided on his international future, and it favours Nigeria, as believed by some members of the NFF.

The tall defender has chosen to represent Nigeria after visiting the country last month, and unless there is a last-minute change of heart, he will wear the green jersey soon.

Adarabioyo, during his visit to Nigeria last month, spoke about deciding his international future, admitting it was time to decide with the World Cup coming soon.

“It's something I think about seriously. But hopefully, in the nearest future I'll make a decision. It's something that has been the topic for many years since I've become a professional footballer, but then we'll see,” he told Arise TV.

What will Adarabioyo bring to Super Eagles?

Adarabioyo, at 27, is expected to replace ageing Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong in the team and partner former Fulham teammate Calvin Bassey in defence.

The Manchester City academy graduate is a tall and aerially dominant defender, who is also good on the ball and fast despite his huge frame.

He is capable of making line-breaking passes and is strong with his clearances, which makes him fit to play as a sweeper defender or operate close to midfield. Tosin is also a goal threat during set pieces and scored a few long-range shots for Chelsea last season.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle’s style of play revolves around athletic and technically gifted players, and the Chelsea star should slot in seamlessly.
