Businesses complain of high prices
The high cost of diesel has left many Nigerians worried about the survival of their business.
Samuel Jadon, a pure water factory owner in Lagos (Jad Water), explained to Legit.ng that he now spends five times more on production due to rising costs.
He said:
"The high cost of energy is severely affecting my business. My factory is under Band A, making it extremely expensive to keep up with the bills. When I need to run a generator, it becomes another major challenge.
I recently increased the price of a bag of water from N350 to N400, yet I still struggle to keep my business running."
Fuel price hike
Legit.ng reported that Festus Osifo, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), has blamed the rise in petrol prices on the exchange rate.
He noted that the fluctuation of the naira-dollar exchange rate directly impacts fuel prices. The TUC boss also revealed talks with state governors.
