Nigerian-born Bukola Salami has clinched a top post in the Canada Nurses Association (CNA).
The CNA, an umbrella body for nurses in the country, noted that the new vice president was voted in by members in advance voting.
The new CNA vice president is a professor at the University of Calgary's Cummings School of Medicine, according to her X profile.
In a post on X, the CNA wrote:

Reacting, Bukola expressed her desire to work for the good of Canadian nurses.
She said:
