Speaking on the topic, Raez Jewels, a relationship coach, told Legit.ng that it is true that some couples do too much when spending for their wedding. She said a simple wedding is the way to go.

Her words:

"I totally agree. I know that people do way too much when planning their weddings as regards to budget and other things. It is inferiority complex that would make a Nigerian man to budget N5 million for a wedding. Who are you trying to impress? Whatever record you think you are trying to have with regards to your wedding, tomorrow that record would be beaten. I'm not a subscriber to a large wedding. In fact, I will prefer a minimal wedding that will be quality. The thing that matters most is dowry payment."
