A Nigerian man resident in Canada has bought a Honda Civic car for himself, and he came on TikTok to celebrate.
The car owner, Abwire, posted a video of the Honda Civic using his TikTok account, and his friends and followers joined to celebrate with him.

Abwire revealed to his followers that the money he used to buy the car was his first salary in Canada.
He said it was his first pay as a Canadian resident, and he used it to bless himself with the white-coloured Honda Civic.
Nigerian resident in Canada buys car with first salary
The video shows how happy Abwire is to have become a car owner a short while after relocating to Canada.
Abwire captioned the video:
"My first one month salary in Canada. I purchased my first car. Congratulations to me."
Some people who saw the video joined him in the celebration as they took to the comment section to congratulate him. Others, however, asked Abwire to tell them the kind of work he does.
How possible is it to buy a car with first month's salary in Canada?
Legit.ng spoke with Ahmodu Akinwale, a travel consultant with expert knowledge on the salary of an average job in Canada, to know if one can buy a car with a month's salary.
He said:
"The average salary for a mid-level job in Canada is $59,879 per year. While this is at best an average figure, salary of a mid-level job varies from one industry to another."
Ahmodu who works with Modian Consulting Firm, Ibadan, however, told Legit.ng it may not be convenient for some people to buy a car immediately after relocating to Canada due to some factors.
His words:
"Buying a car with just the first month's pay after relocating to Canada can be quite challenging and may not be a realistic goal for many people. Several factors come into play, including the cost of living in Canada, the type of car you want to buy, and your specific financial situation.
"Your first-month pay in Canada may not be sufficient to cover the initial costs associated with buying a car. Besides the car's purchase price, you'll need to consider additional expenses such as insurance, registration, taxes, and potentially a down payment if you plan to finance the car.
"If you still want to buy a car shortly after relocating, it's advisable to wait until you have settled down, established a stable income, and have a better understanding of your budget and financial situation."
