Aso Villa, Abuja - President Bola Tinubu has upgraded the position of Nuhu Ribadu from Special Adviser on Security to National Security Adviser.
Recall that the President announced the pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as a special adviser on security last week, Daily Trust reported.
How Tinubu upgrades Ribadu's status
But in a new development on Monday, June 19, President Tinubu sacked all service chiefs, including the national security adviser, and announced Ribadu as a replacement.

On Thursday, June 15, Tinubu announced Ribadu as special adviser on security, alongside seven other special advisers but the pronouncement generated controversies among political pundits who struggled to market the differences between Ribadu's office and that of the National Security Adviser.
But the president in a new decisive move on Monday, June 19, named Ribadu as the new National Security Adviser alongside other security chiefs.
Profile of Nuhu Ribadu before Tinubu' appointment
Ribadu retired as an assistant inspector general of the police and was appointed as the pioneer chairman of the EFCC by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The appointment of Ribadu and other security chiefs was made with immediate effect.
President Tinubu has kept Nigerians talking since the first day of his resumption to office when he announced the removal of the fuel subsidy.
He has made some policy statements in the economy and education areas and has suspended the chairman of the EFCC and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
President Tinubu departs Nigeria for France on Tuesday
Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu will be out of Nigeria on Tuesday for the signing of a New Global Financial Pact in Paris, the capital of France.
The visit will be the first official outing of Bola Tinubu as Nigerian President since he resumed office 23 days ago.
Joining on the trip are members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and they are expected to return to the country on Saturday.
