BREAKING: Adeleke Sacks 12,000 Osun Workers Hours After Inauguration

The newly inaugurate Osun governor, senator Ademola Adeleke has sacked 12,000 workers barely 24 hours after his inauguration.

This was disclosed in a statement by the chief press secretary to Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed on Monday, November 28, The Nation reports.

Rasheed said that the governor nullified all employments in the service of the Osun State Government made in any capacity into any capacity in all the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals after July 17.

The statement read in part:

“All employments in the service of Osun state government made in any capacity into any capacity in all the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Commissions, Boards and Parastatals after July 17th, 2022 be and are hereby nullified."

Recall that the Osun immediate past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola recently employed over 12,000 workers and appointed 30 permanent secretaries, The Guardian Newspaper added.

Adeleke directs senior officers to take immediate charge of Osun LGAs

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has directed the most senior officers in all the Local Government Area Councils in Osun State, to take charge of the affairs of their respective LGAs with immediate effect.

He alleged the immediate past governor of the state Adegboyega Oyetola, carried out some actions “maliciously” after he (Adeleke) won the July 16 governorship election, including “hurried” employments without provisions to sustain them.

Governor Oyetola signed November salary but some people frustrating payment, group claims

Also, a group, the Movement for Osun Workers Emancipation, has alleged that some people are frustrating payment of November salary by the Oyetola's administration.

According to the group in a statement made available to Legit.ng, Governor Gboyega Oyetola had already signed the salary payment but a bank allegedly colluded with some politicians not to effect the payment.
