Bola Tinubu Donates N20million to Catholic Church in Benue State
- The Cathedral Church of St. Francis Otukpo has received a donation of N20million from Bola Tinubu
- The APC presidential candidate made the donation as the cathedral celebrated its centenary anniversary
- Tinubu also rejoiced with the priests, religious, laity, and the entire members of the diocese on the occasion
Otukpo - The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has donated N20 million to the Catholic church in Benue state.
Tinubu’s donation was presented by Rev. Hyacinth Alia, the APC governorship candidate in the state at the centenary anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo.

A statement by Isaac Uzaan, media aide to Alia, on Thursday, October 27 noted that at the Cathedral Church of St. Francis Otukpo, Tinubu rejoiced with the priests, religious, laity, and the entire members of the diocese on the joyous occasion.
He noted that the church had for 100 years remained committed to spreading the good news of salvation in Nigeria, particularly to the people of Benue South.

The APC presidential candidate expressed optimism that with prayers and positive actions, the country would overcome its challenges.
Similarly, the minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Senator George Akume donated N10 million to the church.
Akume who is the APC leader in Benue and a former governor of the state, was represented by the APC chairman, Mr Austin Agada.
He urged the people of Benue to be steadfast in prayers for the state and Nigeria to overcome current challenges.
Benue APC guber candidate speaks on 2023 general elections
Speaking at the event, Alia expressed concern over the level of poverty the people of Benue have been exposed to.
He said that the state government should fulfil its salary obligations to civil servants and address challenges of insecurity, poor infrastructure and unemployment.
Alia pledged to change the situation if elected governor in 2023, and called on the entire people of Benue South to support him to succeed.
Most Rev. Michael Apochi, the Bishop of Otukpo Diocese, thanked all those who donated, and prayed for Nigeria to be better and stronger.
Apochi said the Otukpo diocese had come this far only through prayers by clergies and laity.
2023: Tinubu after personal interest, not Yoruba people, says Banji Akintoye
Meanwhile, leader of Ilana Omo Oodua, Professor Banji Akintoye, has declared that Tinubu’s ambition was premised on “personal interest” and not that of the Yoruba people.
Vanguard newspaper reports that Akintoye vowed not to endorse Tinubu or vote for him during the 2023 election.
2023: For Tinubu, politics is family business, Obi/Datti campaign replies Keyamo
On its part, the Obi-Datti presidential campaign organisation has stated that no family member of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi will square up with Tinubu’s son, Seyi, to campaign for office for the former Anambra state governor ahead of the 2023 polls.
The campaign team was responding to comments made by APC presidential campaign spokesman, Festus Keyamo who asked Obi to draft his son into his campaign team.
Responding, the Labour Party campaign team said Keyamo is unwittingly exposing his candidate and the desperation around his household for the APC candidate to become president at all costs.
Nigeria will break up if APC wins 2023 elections, says Obaseki
On his part, the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki on Monday, October 24 warned that Nigeria will break up if the APC and its presidential candidate win the 2023 general elections.
Obaseki made the comment at the inauguration of the Edo state PDP campaign council in the state.
The governor said no right-thinking person will vote in the APC and Tinubu in next February’s presidential election.
