Don’t Vote Yoruba, Igbo: Peter Obi’s Labour Party Finally Reacts to Atiku’s Statement

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has come under attack from the Labour Party over his anti-Yoruba and Igbo comments.

According to the vice presidential candidate of Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Atiku's statement was capable of jeopardizing the country’s unity.

He made this known in a statement via his verified Twitter handle.

Going further, Baba-Ahmed described Atiku as an ethnic bigot who cannot even unify his party.

Atiku had on Saturday advised Northerners to vote for him in the 2023.

He said:

“What the average Northerner needs is somebody who’s from the North and also understands that part of the country and has been able to build bridges across the country.
“This is what the Northerner needs. It doesn’t need a Yoruba or Igbo candidate. I stand before you as a pan-Nigerian of northern origin,” the Adamawa-born former Vice-president said in a viral video."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that honourable Akeem Adeyemi, son of the late Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, has revealed that the last wish of his father was that the All Progressives Congress flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu becomes president.

Adeyemi, who is representing AFIJIO/Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West Federal Constituency, stated this at the 84th posthumous birthday of the late monarch in Oyo at the weekend. The ceremony was held at the new mini stadium in Ode Aremo, Oyo, near Alaafin’s palace.

He urged youths to support Tinubu, who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu said Peter Obi (Labour Party), Atiku Abubakar (Peoples Democratic Party), and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (All Progressives Congress) are old politicians in Nigeria.

Kachikwu said this set of politicians has nothing new to offer Nigeria, nor can they realise the country's collective aspirations.

The ADC's (expelled) flagbearer made the statement as he debunked claims that he was planning to join forces with Obi, adding that there was no basis for such.
