Abuja - A former minister of aviation during the administration of the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani-Kayode, said that after he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), more governors from the opposition will defect to the ruling party.
The Punch reports that Fani-Kayode, on Thursday, September 16, hinted at the possibility of the governors of Bauchi, Enugu and Oyo states leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made the declaration after he was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the APC caretaker chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni in Abuja.
Fani-Kayode in response to whether he had friends from the PDP following him into the APC, said, there are many people within the opposition that want to defect to the ruling party.

According to him, he was very instrumental when governors Dave Umahi, Ben Ayade and Bello Matawalle joined the APC, Leadership added.
Fani-Kayode, who said he is a founding member of the APC, expressed hope that the governors of Enugu, Oyo and Bauchi states may end up coming in this direction.

Recall that Fani-Kayode explained why he defected to the ruling APC. The former PDP chieftain said his decision to dump the opposition was divine.
The ex-minister said that he was led by the Spirit of God in his decision and that he joined the APC to help for the unity of the country.
He added that he was against anything that would cause the disintegration of Nigeria.
Fani-Kayode meets Buhari after his defection
The former aviation minister said he had an excellent meeting with President Buhari on Thursday, September 16, at Aso Rock.
The ex-minister made this known on his official Facebook page while addressing Nigerians on the early morning of Friday, September 17.
He said the president received him warmly and was delighted he joined the APC.
