Just In: Gunmen Kill Deposed Anambra State Monarch, Driver

Another Nigerian has been dispatched to heaven. This time, the victim is a deposed monarch in Anambra state, The Nation Newspaper reports.
Alex Edozieuno, and his driver, simply identified as Chukwuemeka were killed by the gunmen on Friday, September 10.
They were reportedly ambushed and killed at Otuocha in the Anambra east local government area of the state in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased was among the 12 traditional rulers deposed by the Anambra state government for travelling to Abuja with an oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, to see President Muhammadu Buhari, without authorisation by the government.

The incident was confirmed by the state Public Relations Office, Ikenga Tochukwu, Punch Newspaper added.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Tony Olofu, has ordered investigation on the matter.
Panic as kidnappers abduct prominent Nigerian ex-chief judge, make demand
Meanwhile, a former chief judge of Abia state, Justice Nnenna Oti is nowhere to be found as she is said to have been kidnapped by some armed abductors.
According to Bishop Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku of Ohaji/Egbema Anglican Diocese, Justice Oti was kidnapped on Saturday, September 4, while she was driving to Anambra. The bishop added that the ex-chief judge's captors have made demands for ransom.
The police in Imo state, reacting to the incident, said an investigation into the abduction was underway.
Tension as gunmen reportedly kidnap Nigerian monarch after attending traditional wedding
Meanwhile, Eze Charles Iroegbu, the traditional ruler of Umueze Nguru in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state had reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen.
The monarch was kidnapped along with some cabinet chiefs of the kingdom when returning from a traditional wedding within the state.
The gunmen intercepted and diverted the three vehicles that were conveying Eze Charles Iroegbu, and his cabinet chiefs.
A source said the kidnapping of the respected traditional ruler has caused fear and panic in the community.
