Agriculture, Technology: Osinbajo Seeks Improved Collaborations with Vietnam

Abuja - Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said with the opportunities existing in agriculture and technology in Nigeria and Vietnam, the countries will benefit from effective collaboration in these sectors.
Osinbajo, in a statement issued and sent to Legit.ng by Laolu Akande, the senior special assistant on media and publicity, office of the vice president, also stated that this would deepen their friendly relationships.
The vice president made the remark on Monday, August 9, at the Presidential Villa during a courtesy visit by the ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Nigeria, Luong Quoe.
He also noted that other areas of collaboration between Nigeria and Vietnam would be in the interaction of young people actively engaged within the technology space in both countries.
Prof Osinbajo further stated that there was plenty room for cooperation, and one of such ways is being effective in establishing relationships and ensuring the relationships endure if both countries are “able to structure the Bi-national Commission and then also some of the economic collaboration through agriculture and technology.”
The vice president thanked the Vietnamese government for the kind donation of medical supplies to the Nigerian Mission in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Osinbajo proposes how Nigeria can overcome tough socio-economic conditions
Earlier, Osinbajo said despite the socio-economic conditions in the country and the tough challenges they pose, generating economic growth, eradicating poverty, developing human capital and building up infrastructural backbone in a sustainable manner is certainly doable.
He noted that this can be achieved especially with a sense of urgency. Osinbajo explained that all the tiers of government and critical partners ought to be focused, open-minded and collaborative.
