APC Postpones Congress Indefinitely, Gives Update on National Convention
- The All Progressives Congress has postponed the conduct of its congresses from the ward to zonal level indefinitely

Abuja - Amid receiving members of other political parties into its fold, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has indefinitely postponed its congresses from ward to national level.
Daily Trust reports that the ruling party made this known in a letter dated July 6, and addressed to the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The letter signed by the chairman and secretary of the APC caretaker committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and Senator John James Akpanudoedehe respectively, stated that a later date will be communicated to the electoral commission, The Nation added.
The ruling party was, however, quiet on the new dates for the party's national convention and congresses.
APC releases timetable for congresses
Recall that the ruling party had rolled out the timetable for the conduct of its congresses from the ward to zonal levels.
The timetable, however, silent on the national convention of the party. The ward congresses were expected to hold on July 10, while local government congresses are fixed for August 6.
It also added that the state congress would be held on September 3 and the zonal congress on September 30.

APC chieftains advise Buni, drops allegations on why PDP stalwarts are defecting
Meanwhile, for some stakeholders in the APC, the gale of defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not altogether a welcome development.
Members of the National Committee of APC Support Groups for Senator Al-Makura who have expressed some fears linked to what party chieftains see as a blessing recently sent a communique to the leadership under Mai Mala Buni.
The group in the statement advised Buni to find out the level of commitment and moral background of the new members, especially those from the opposition party.
