Miyetti Allah, however, distanced itself from Sunday attacks in Igangan in Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo state.

According to him, members of the association were peace-loving people, who could not have been involved in such a wicked act.

Fulani must be allowed to work freely in Nigeria

He said the Fulani have become “endangered species” across the country because of several negative reports in social and conventional media that paint them as enemies of the people and state.

Bodejo appealed to Fulani people across the country to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding in spite of provocations.

It was reported that the ACF chairman and immediate past minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, made this known in a statement on Monday, May 17.

The former minister, however, said there is the need to advise the governors in all states not to think that merely banning open grazing would end the crisis, stressing that the bulk of the violent herders are the ones marching in from neighbouring African countries in large numbers.
