Al-Mustapha explained that some powerful persons in the country think he is keeping a lot of secret about the life and times of the military leader for some personal reasons.
However, the former CSO to Abacha said he cannot lie about the dead and will always tell only what he knows.
According to him, the one-time head of state died the same way M.K.O. Abiola gave up the ghost: seated on a chair, with his cap next to him, looking up and foaming from his mouth.
His words:
"Abacha died seated on the chair like this, his cap by the side next to him, and then he died with his head looking up foaming in the mouth the same way Abiola died; that was the same way Abacha died."
Al-Mustapha went on to disclose that he was the one who called the doctor, moved Abacha's remains, prepared them for burial, informed the family of the development and secured Nigeria at the time before the transition in government.
Supreme Court's verdict on Abacha loot
Meanwhile, a lawsuit filed by Abacha's family seeking access to looted funds stashed in foreign bank accounts had been dismissed by the Supreme Court.
