Two peculiar talents discovered out of the 318 were a 62-year old Mrs. Elizabeth Okagbare and a 7-year old author, Miss Odili Rest.
The statement noted that the Okowa-led administration is fully committed to ensuring young people in Delta state are presented with the opportunity to develop themselves, be positively engaged, build their skills, create jobs for themselves.
It said the initiative will enable them to become self-reliant and financially dependent and also contribute their own quota to the development of Delta state.
The Delta government had earlier announced that it has put modalities in place to partner with the private sector to harness home-based talents in entertainment as a substitute to oil revenue in the state.
Each of the winners would get a contract sum of N5 million, a wardrobe allowance, and a platform to showcase them to the world.
Recall that Governor Okowa, on Tuesday, March 30, said his administration would continue to provide opportunities for youths in the state to be self-employed and wealth creators.
The governor disclosed this in Asaba at the graduation and starter-pack presentation to 776 beneficiaries of the state government's Rural Youth Skills Acquisition programme, which is one of the youth development initiatives of his administration.
