Part of the statement read:

“On this special handover anniversary, I wish to celebrate our brothers, friends, leaders, excellences, the governors on the platform of our great party, who have demonstrated outstanding qualities in good governance and dared to be different. Congratulations to our governors celebrating their 2nd and 6th anniversary in office.
“Amidst growing frustrations in the country triggered by the incompetence of the centre, these PDP governors have shown to be the silver lining in the dark cloud of hopelessness that grips our nation.
“While the PDP represents the path to hope in 2023, the performances of the party's governors will further endear it to Nigerians for a return to the Presidential villa to rescue the nation.
“All over Nigeria, the people's frustrations are very palpable and have continued to compel them of the inevitability of bringing back the PDP to salvage the country and return us to the path of peace and prosperity.
