President Buhari holds meeting with Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, May 28, held a meeting with a former president, Goodluck Jonathan, over the situation in Mali.
Legit.ng recalls that Mali’s interim president, Bah Ndaw, and Prime Minister Moctar Ouane resigned days after they were arrested by the military.
The president and prime minister were detained and stripped of their powers in what appeared to be the country's second coup in nine months.
Jonathan who is part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) envoy and mediator in Mali has updated the Nigerian president about the situation of things in the West African country.

Buhari advised the stakeholders in Mali to embrace peace and unity in the interest of the country.
He called for a de-escalation of the crisis in the country.
The president said:
''I met with former President Jonathan this morning, on the situation in Mali, where he is ECOWAS Special Envoy & Mediator. I am calling on all actors and stakeholders to come together for the peace, unity and security of Mali. We cannot afford a further escalation of this crisis.''
Meanwhile, Nigeria's vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, hosted Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor, the vice president of Liberia, on Friday, May 28.
This was disclosed in a thread of tweets posted by the presidency via its official Twitter handle, @NGRPresident.
Legit.ng gathers that the Liberian vice president led a delegation to attend the 1st Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS parliament held in Abuja on Thursday, May 27, and spoke at the opening ceremony.
In another news, the presidency has said when the administration of President Buhari's tenure end in the next two years, the applause would be resounding, even from the worst of sceptics.
A presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, said this in a statement on Friday, May 28.
The statement catalogued the achievements of the incumbent federal government led by President Buhari in the last six years.
