The 2021 list of nominees for the Black Entertainment (BET) Awards have been released and Nigerian music lovers are pretty excited as two of their very own - Burna Boy and Wizkid - have been nominated.

The talented singers each got nominated in the Best International Act category on May 27, 2021.

Other nominees in the category include French singers, Aya Nakamura and Youssoupha; Tanzanian superstar, Diamond Platnumz; Brazilian act, Emicida.

This is not the first time Burna Boy has been nominated in this category.

Burna Boy has won in the last two years. Before then, Wizkid won the award in 2012, when the category had two divisions for Africa and the UK

Recall earlier, Legit.ng reported on how Wizkid won the Best Music Video while Burna Boy won in the Best Global Music Album category at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

In other news, Burna Boy may have won a Grammy, but it does not seem that many Nigerians like the singer. In fact, many seem to like the Ye crooner's songs more than they like him.

Recently, Legit.ng took to their official Twitter page to ask their followers who their artiste of the decade is.

The poll had the names of Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and the last option was for people who may want to make comments on any other artistes of their choice.

Wizkid was the most preferred as the Ojuelegba crooner gathered 43.6% votes. Davido came second as he got 33.3% votes while Burna Boy came third with just 14.8% votes.
