Massive Reactions as Video of Wike Threatening to Flog Ex-governor Surfaces Online

A viral online video of Governor Nyesom Wike threatening to flog an erstwhile governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, after the latter allegedly described the former as a dictator has triggered heated reactions from some Nigerians.

Speaking from Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Wike boasted that while he continues to lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to victory in many Rivers elections, Aliyu has constantly lost Niger state polls on the platform of the party.

In the video, Wike was heard saying:

"Aliyu thinks that it was that time they were moving around saying they were fighting eclipse. I will flog the hell out of him. He should know. Rivers state is not...

However, Legit.ng cannot confirm if this video is a recent one.

Naturally, the threat from Wike has sparked responses from citizens who watched the brief video clip.

Many of them noted that the Rivers governor is serious about his words, while others feel this brings both men to the level of secondary students.

Earlier, Wike had accused Aliyu of being a mole in the PDP. Wike, who stated this on Monday, May 24, in Port Harcourt, was reacting to a recent statement credited to Aliyu, where he described the Rivers state governor as a dictator.
