Veteran Nigerian actress, Ify Onwuemene, has passed away after years of battling for her life.

The Everyday People actress died on Tuesday, May 25, as disclosed by a colleague, Gloria Anozie-Young, on social media.

Gloria in a Facebook post disclosed that the deceased actress was diagnosed with endometrial cancer years ago and has been battling for her life ever since. According to her, the sickness also resulted in Ify having her womb removed.

The actress explained further that in 2019, doctors said Ify had gotten to stage 4 of the disease after undergoing a total of nine chemotherapy sessions.

Gloria said the actress spent over N10 million on the sickness and also had to seek financial aid from colleagues and other well-meaning Nigerians.
