According to PM News, the governor described himself as a man of classical quality.
But two Nigerians who spoke with Legit.ng expressed doubts over the governor’s claims.
Christiana Ojeme Gabriel argued that the statement by Governor Willie Obiano is unbelievable. The teacher said will take the governor’s claim with a pinch of salt.
When asked why she doubts Obiano’s claims, she said:
‘’No governor in Nigeria has ever done that because they are all thieves including this one.’’
Another social commentator, Marshal Mokwe, said Obiano’s statement does not reflect the reality on ground.
Mokwe who resides in Onitsha area of Anambra state told Legit.ng that the governor is underperforming.
He said despite Obiano’s claims of promoting charity, roads in the state are in a bad shape.
Meanwhile, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the 2021 Anambra election, Lady Chidi Onyemelukwe, has said that the police high command's shoot-at-sight order in Enugu falls short of international standards.
Legit.ng reported that the governorship hopeful said the police, must not, in a bid to restore normalcy, resort to high-handed and extra-judicial engagements, saying that it would only exacerbate the situation and further alienate the police from the public they serve.
She argued further that armed confrontations cannot bring about the kind of progress the southeast needs at this time.
