BREAKING: Tambuwal Mourns as Sokoto Commissioner Dies of Undisclosed Ailment

Nigeria has lost another government official as Alhaji Arzika Tureta, Sokoto state commissioner for agriculture passed away.
The Nation citing News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commissioner died after a protracted illness at the age of 62, in the early hours of Monday, May 24.
According to the report, Muktar Dodo-Iya, the ministry’s public relations officer, confirming the development revealed that the deceased passed on at the Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUS).
However, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, announcing the commissioner's death, said he died on Sunday night, May 23, The Punch reports.
Legit.ng gathered that Tureta represented Tureta local government area in the Sokoto State House of Assembly and Bodinga/DangeShuni/Tureta, Federal Constituency.
The ex-lawmaker served as commissioner during former Governor Aliyu Wamakko’s administration for eight years.
He was reappointed by the incumbent governor, Tambuwal, for an additional six years.
Tureta who survived by two wives and seven children will be buried in his hometown of Lambar Tureta in Sokoto.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a special adviser to Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state on basic, secondary and vocational/technical education, Professor Francisca Aladejana, passed on.
Aladejana, who was a former provost of the college of education, Ikere Ekiti, now Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, died on Monday, May 17, while working in her office.
The deceased was said to have arrived at her office as usual on Monday morning but later slumped while on a phone call.
Similarly, the commissioner for housing in Ebonyi state, Uche Okah, was reported dead.
Ukah reportedly died on Friday, May 14, at a hospital in Abuja, where she was receiving treatment over an undisclosed illness.
